L.W. Engebretson Founder, President, and Chief Investment Officer |
L.W. Engebretson has over 40 years of experience in the securities field. He started his career with seven years as a registered Account Executive in the Beverly Hills office of Dean Witter. By the age of 34, he became Executive Vice-President and Director of Research & Portfolio Management of an Exchange-member firm in Los Angeles, where he was also an Investment Advisor Representative.
At the age of 37, he founded ECM Investment Management, Inc. as an investment counsel firm, specializing in securities analysis and investment management. Over the decades, he has built a reputation as an economist and securities analyst. His economic forecasts have appeared in national publications at many times since 1975. Years of diligent work and insightful investing have made he and the firm very successful. He and the entire staff consider the stewardship of our client’s capital a calling that transcends work.
L.W. Engebretson holds multiple advanced degrees in Business Administration from California State University Long Beach and Valley Christian University.

Joe Bronson Vice-President and Portfolio Manager |
Joe Bronson has over 10 years of experience in the securities field. He started his career as Assistant to President at ECM. After several years, he became Operations Manager of ECM. He now serves in the capacity of a licensed Portfolio Manager for ECM.
Over the years, Joe has gained extensive knowledge of the equity and fixed income markets, real estate investments, and technical analysis. Today he is part of the Portfolio Management Team, providing fundamental and technical analysis of the markets and daily input for recommended changes to the portfolios.
Joe holds a Series 65 Investment Advisor Representative license, and advanced degrees in Business Administration.

John Engebretson Vice President and Operations Manager |
John oversees the in-house portfolio engineering, trading, operations, and technological resources of the firm. His additional responsibilities include the computer and software business systems, computer-based transaction management, portfolio analysis, account reconciliation, client and SEC reporting. He has served in various operations and administrative capacities at ECM since 1996.
Prior to his current position at ECM, John served as a Business Systems Analyst at Al Frank Asset Management and Rockwell International, among others. His technical expertise includes computer platforms, programming languages, and applications software packages related to financial trading and database management.
He holds an advanced degree in Information Sciences.
